R u guilty that you are carrying an unwanted child? R U at the point of
breaking down your morals to give in to the convenience of having an abortion?
R U willing to be pro- choice rather than to be an advocate for life?
R U hearing the reverberating echoes of condemnation as you are on the
verge of sinning? R U ? Maybe U R.
The Church
and the State's Department of Health have come to the new point of disagreement
as the debate on the newest abortion drug RU-486 approval
in the US continues to sizzle and put the
government's family planning program in the limelight. Alarmed by the possible
entry of drug in the Philippine shores, the Church has raised it's qualms
on the issue. They further asserted their stand by saying "It is the highest
triumph for legal positivism but the slowest point for human society."
The battle has come to it's onset because of the recent approval by the
Bureau of Food and Drugs of Levonorgestrel, which is termed as an Emergency
Contraceptive. The Church has rebuked the department's statement by saying
that both drugs prevent the gestation of the fertilized egg, which sees
as already a form of life. |
